When I started my consulting business, I was surprised at how often I saw founders and executives struggle to tell their company’s mission, purpose, and vision — not just to the media but to their employees, their investors, even friends around the dinner table. This storytelling roadblock combined with the ever-changing media landscape means more times than not, company’s stories are getting lost externally and (even worse) internally in the echo-chamber of noise that surrounds us every day across multiple channels.

Since making this discovery, I’ve shifted my strategy to better support founders, companies, and the nuances of the market to tell stories with impact. Honestly, there's a better, more effective way to do communications — without inflated retainers and old-school PR program mentalities — but there aren’t many agencies or practitioners willing to steer away from conventional methods. The systems I've developed allow me to quickly get under the hood of your business to develop programs tailored specifically towards reaching and expanding your target audiences, resulting in meaningful media coverage, new customers, engaged employees, and loyal followers.

Before starting her consulting practice in 2023, Katie spent nearly a decade in Sydney, Australia shaping C-suite voices for Salesforce across Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and India.

Katie is the co-host of the Smart in Public podcast, created for PR & Comms professionals to learn from each other and share knowledge from lived experiences across the various roles and industries that the profession touches. The podcast’s popularity has turned a side project into a community, resulting in downloads in over 35 countries and interviews with founders, CEOs, journalists, and CCOs from the world’s biggest brands, publications, and agencies.

Katie now operates as a Fractional CCO for series B and C stage companies, where she specializes in developing narrative-based communications programs, building founder profiles, and leading company launch strategies.
